Science Investigation Day

Nova Primary children enjoying a fun packed Science Investigation Day.

We enjoyed another successful Science Investigation day across the school recently with children focussing hard on developing their questioning and decision-making skills. EYFS enjoyed developing their skills in measuring and using materials to build and Year 1 looked into which would be the best material to create a strong bridge. Year 2 were working hard to find the best waterproof material to make an umbrella. Year 3 looked carefully at skeletons and then tested the theory that having a longer femur bone may mean you can jump further.  Year 4 explored how temperature affects melting time while Year 5 looked into whether the shape of an object affected the amount of water resistance it encountered. Year 6 continued exploring the properties of light whilst making periscopes. Such an amazing range of scientific skills have been taking place at Nova!
